Explanation

VW piezometers convert the water pressure in the diaphragm to be measured into an equivalent frequency signal. The pressure on the diaphragm, altered by fluid pressure, causes a change in the tension of the wire. The excited wire vibrates at the resonance frequency. 

Special stainless steel is used to minimize thermal zero drift in frequency converters, and additionally, the sensitivity of the diaphragm is quite high.

Additionally, the pressure transducer is equipped with a lightning protection system to protect the sensor from electric shock and a temperature device to balance temperature fluctuations.

Applications

VW piezometers are designed to measure parameters such as pore water and liquid pressure, which are important for many structures like pressure tanks, pipelines, drilling, foundations, and dams.

  • Measuring the effects of drainage systems used in excavations.
  • Measuring the pore water pressure to determine the safety factor under excavation or embankment.

Models

Standard

Standard model VW piezometer, designed to be embedded in soil fills and concrete interfaces or to be placed in boreholes and small diameter pipes.

Heavy Duty Type

The model is specially designed for use in places where semi-permanent measurement is required, such as a baraj site. It is covered with aramid fiber high-strength cable with a 7 mm diameter PU sheath.
