Descriptions
Vibrating Wire strain gauges consist of a stainless steel pipe with flanges at both ends. Inside the tube, there is a vibrating wire next to the plucking coil, which is held taut between the ends of the tube.
The vibrating wire of the VW inset strain gauge is the tension between the two end flanges fixed in the concrete. The wire is broken so that it vibrates at the resonant frequency. This frequency depends on the wire tension, which varies with the strain of the concrete. The change in frequency, strain or stress is calculated directly by the VW reading unit.
The Strain Gauge is equipped with a temperature device to compensate for temperature variations.
Features
- It is not affected by cable length and resistance change.
- Repeatability is pretty great.
- Thanks to its embedded temperature device, it compensates for temperature changes.
- Automatic measurement is possible.

Standard
The Standard Model VW embedded strain gauge is designed to measure stress in reinforced concrete and bulk concrete. By mounting 2 to 4 VW embedded strain gauges on suitable elements with different orientations you can measure the magnitude, distributed direction, and trend of the strain. Strain gauges can be used to understand the strain behavior of structures after they are embedded in structures such as dams and embankments.
Biaxial
The biaxial model is very useful for measuring biaxially accurate stress in reinforced concrete, mass concrete structures and shotcrete applications.
Miniature
The super small size miniature model strain gauge can be used quite easily when there is a limitation in the installation conditions.
