Explanations
Vibrating Wire strain gauges consist of a flanged stainless steel tube at both ends. Inside the tube, there is a vibrating wire next to a strain coil that is held taut between the ends of the tube.
The vibrating wire strain gauge of the VW measures the tension between two end flanges fixed within the concrete. The wire is broken to vibrate at the resonance frequency. This frequency depends on the wire tension, which varies according to the strain in the concrete. Changes in frequency are directly calculated by the VW reading unit to determine strain or stress.
The Gerinim Ölçer is equipped with a temperature device to balance temperature changes.
Features
- It is not affected by cable length and resistance change.
- The repeatability is quite excellent.
- It compensates for temperature changes thanks to the embedded temperature device.
- Automatic measurement is possible.

Standard
The Standard Model VW embedded strain gauge is designed to measure stress in reinforced concrete and mass concrete. By mounting 2 to 4 VW embedded strain gauges on suitable elements with different orientations, you can measure the magnitude, distributed direction, and bending of deformation. Once the strain gauges are embedded in structures such as dams and embankments, they can be used to understand the strain behavior in the structure.
Biaxial
The biaxial model is quite useful for measuring biaxial tensile stress in reinforced concrete, mass concrete structures, and shotcrete applications.
Miniature
When there is a limitation in the installation conditions, the super small-sized miniature model strain gauge can be used quite easily.
