Vibrating Wire Piezometer

VW piezometers convert the water pressure acting on the measuring diaphragm into an equivalent frequency signal. The pressure applied to the diaphragm by the fluid causes a change in the tension of the wire. The excited wire vibrates at its resonant frequency.

Special stainless steel is used to minimize thermal zero shift in the frequency, and the diaphragm has a high sensitivity.

In addition, the pressure transducer is equipped with lightning protection to protect the sensor against electrical surges and a temperature device to compensate for temperature variations.

Models

Standard
The standard model VW piezometer is designed to be embedded in earth fills and concrete interfaces or installed in boreholes and small-diameter pipes.

Heavy Duty Type
This model is specifically manufactured for use in locations where semi-permanent measurements are required, such as dam sites. It is equipped with a high-strength aramid fiber–reinforced cable with a 7 mm diameter PU sheath.

Applications:

VW piezometers are designed to measure pore water pressure and fluid pressure, which are critical parameters for many structures such as pressure tanks, pipelines, boreholes, foundations, and dams.

Measurement of pore water pressure to determine the factor of safety beneath excavations or embankments.

Measurement of water level to control performance in rivers, reservoirs, and standpipes.
