The standpipe filter tip consists of a perforated PVC filter. It is a porous plastic filter resistant to crushing. It is used together with a rigid PVC riser pipe. Specially manufactured connecting elements are used to directly couple the riser pipe with the filter tip and provide a monolithic structure.

Water enters the riser until the water pressure inside the filter equals the pore water pressure in the soil. Subsequently, a water level indicator system can be easily used to measure the water depth.
