Load Cells and Stress Meters
Anchor-Type Load Cell
GeoAnts anchor-type load cells are carefully manufactured using a four half-bridge strain-gauge configuration to meet the highest standards, eliminate the effects of eccentric loading on the output signal, and provide inherent (natural) compensation for temperature variations.
While GeoAnts offers custom product designs for larger capacities and sizes, it also provides a flagship model designed to fit 3×0.6 in or 4×0.6 in prestressed (post-tensioned) ground anchors.
Each shipped unit is individually calibrated in-house. Load cells are widely used to measure loads on steel struts (shoring/bracing members), prestressed ground anchors, rock bolts, and soil nails, and in performance testing of deep foundation elements. Typical application areas include deep excavations and support systems, tunnels, stabilized/improved slopes, superstructures, deep foundations, and bridges. GeoAnts anchor load cells are assembled together with load-bearing steel plates (available as an optional order).
Measurements can be taken using GeoAnts-manufactured portable readout units or dataloggers.
