Multi-Point Rod Extensometer

(The products to be ordered may vary depending on factors such as the intended application, borehole depth, soil density, and soil type. It is recommended to contact us prior to finalizing your order.)

The deformation behavior of structures interacting with soil and rock masses can be determined using borehole extensometers. The three-point rod extensometer is primarily used to monitor changes in distance between anchor points—each fixed at specific depths along an approximately horizontal axis within a borehole or on the front face of retaining structures—and a surface-mounted reference head.

When deformation occurs within the system, the distances between the anchors and the reference head change, and the magnitude of deformation is determined through periodic measurements. The optionally available single-point rod extensometer allows measurement at a single anchor point, while multi-point extensometers provide deformation distribution data at multiple points within a single borehole installation. Both single- and multi-point rod extensometer systems can be converted into an electronic reference head configuration through a practical add-on, enabling digital data acquisition and the implementation of monitoring systems with more efficient use of human resources.

For detailed information about our three-point rod extensometer system, which is designed for deformation monitoring in tunnels, deep excavations, soils exhibiting settlement or heave behavior, and dam construction projects, please contact us through our communication channels.
