T26 Project

High-Speed Rail (HSR) lines hold a strategic position within Türkiye’s national transportation infrastructure. Within this scope, a structural health and geotechnical monitoring program was implemented along the critical tunnel section of a major HSR line, with the primary objective of ensuring the highest level of structural safety.
Tunnel-integrated vibrating wire pressure cells (NATM-type) were installed to continuously monitor lining pressures and to observe stress variations during tunnel advancement. Additionally, multi-point tunnel extensometer systems placed at three different depths behind the lining were used to monitor ground deformation behavior, providing essential data related to the structural stability of the tunnel. Embedded strain gauges enabled precise measurement of segmental stresses, supporting the verification of design-related behavior.
This integrated monitoring setup contributed significantly to ensuring the safe performance of the tunnel structure and provided valuable insights into ground structure interaction throughout the process.
