Another High-Speed Rail (HSR) line required a comprehensive instrumentation program to continuously monitor the water pressures acting on the tunnel lining. Piezometer sensors installed immediately behind the tunnel lining were used to track sub-surface water pressures in real time, providing essential data for critical decisions regarding excavation safety and lining stability. 

During installation, custom-designed single-channel data acquisition units developed by the GeoAnts engineering team were used to collect all pressure data on site, which were then stored in external memory for retrospective analysis. The piezometers were prepared within specially designed protective housings that considered the site-specific conditions of the project, and were precisely positioned and fixed in place through the grouting process after drilling. This approach contributed both to long-term durability and to reliable measurement performance, supporting effective risk management throughout the tunnel’s operational life.
