Urban Development & Buildings - Baytur Masar Project, Saudi Arabia

In a high-rise international hotel project carried out in Saudi Arabia, a comprehensive Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) plan was implemented to monitor the loads and wind- induced dynamic effects acting on the structure during the advancing construction stages. In high-rise buildings, continuous monitoring of increased load transfer mechanisms and wind-induced effects is crucial both for a safe construction process and for the long-term operational safety of the structure.

For this purpose, embedded in-line extensometers / in-column extensometer systems were installed inside reinforced concrete structural elements, along with embedded bar-type strain gauge sensors placed on reinforcement cages. All sensors were connected to a multi-channel data acquisition system, enabling automatic and remote data tracking.

Throughout the installation process, GeoAnts’ custom-developed products and the on- site technical support and training provided by expert GeoAnts engineers ensured accurate deployment under project specific conditions. This integrated approach enabled the project team to access real-time and reliable data regarding the building’s load-carrying capacity and dynamic behavior, strengthening safety-driven decision- making processes.
